You do not need an account with anybody, a reference from a friend, or three phone calls on your lunch break.

Tell Motiv what is wrong
Pick the kind of problem — geyser, plumbing, electrical, appliances, roofing, whatever it is — then describe it in your own words and add at least two photos. Say it the way you would to a neighbour: “no hot water since last night”, “smells of gas”. Motiv works out how urgent it is from that.

Choose who you want to quote
You are shown checked contractors who do that trade, nearest first, with the distance next to each. Pick up to three. They are the only people who see your job.

Compare what comes back
Each quote arrives with a price, what it covers, a quote document, how long it stands and when they could start. Approve the one you want — the others close on their own.

Agree when they come
The visit date comes off the quote you approved. If they propose something outside the expected window, it waits for your say-so first.

Watch it happen
You can see where the job is at any point, and message the contractor on the job itself, so the conversation stays attached to the work rather than scattered across WhatsApp.

Sign it off when you are happy
They upload the certificate and the photos. You approve, ask for more proof, or raise a snag. When you close it off you rate them out of five — and that rating follows them.
The honest answers
What people actually worry about.
“How do I know they are any good?”
For a home job you can only invite contractors Motiv has actually checked — company registration, VAT, public liability insurance and trade qualification. That is enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the app.
“Am I being overcharged?”
Ask up to three contractors and see their prices side by side, with what each one covers and when they can start. Nobody sees anybody else's quote.
“Will they actually finish it?”
The job cannot be closed until they have uploaded a Certificate of Compliance and at least two photos of the finished work. You decide whether that is good enough.
“What if the work is bad?”
Raise a snag with what needs correcting. They propose a date to come back and you approve it. Nothing about that exchange disappears.
Choosing someone
You pick. Not an algorithm.
Motiv shows you contractors who do the trade you need, ordered by how close they are to you, with the distance on each one. You choose up to three to ask.
Nothing is auto-assigned and nobody is pushed at you. If you would rather only ask one, ask one.
Distances need an address that could be placed on a map, so it is worth picking yours from the suggestions when you sign up.
Paying for the work
You pay the contractor directly.
Motiv does not take your money or process the payment. You agree that with the contractor you picked, the same way you would if you had found them yourself. What Motiv gives you is the quote in writing, the record of what was approved, and the evidence that it was done.
