No work reaches you until you are verified — that is the point. Clients are choosing you partly because someone checked.

Register your business
Three steps: your login details, then your company and trade details, then the service agreement. You are signed in straight away and can look around while we check the account.

Get verified
Upload your CIPC registration, VAT certificate, public liability insurance and trade qualification from Settings, as a PDF or a photo. Our team reviews the trades, the VAT number, the signed agreement and the documents. Your status shows next to your name until it changes from Pending to Verified.

Receive invitations
Jobs you have been invited to quote on land on your Today queue badged “Invited to quote”, with a notification. You can only quote on work you were actually invited to.

Quote or decline
Submit your price and documents, or decline with a reason from a short list plus an optional note. Declining does not hold the job up — the client's other invitations carry on.

Set the visit and do the work
Your proposed start date rides on the quote. Mark the job in progress when you get going — that stamps your response and attendance times, which are what your performance record is built from.

Upload the proof and get signed off
A Certificate of Compliance and at least two completion photos are required before you can submit. The client approves, asks for more evidence, or raises a snag. Confirm there is no further extra work and they close it out with your rating.
Competing fairly
Nobody sees your price but the client.
Several businesses can be invited to the same job. Your quotes, your invitations, your sign-offs and your site visits are loaded scoped to your business alone — competing contractors never see each other's numbers.
If you are not selected, you are told, and the submission stays on your record. If the client wants a revised price, they ask you directly rather than quietly going elsewhere.

Straight answers
- Does it cost me anything to join?
- Registering and being verified costs nothing. Any commercial terms are agreed with you directly, not deducted through the app.
- Does Motiv handle the money?
- No. You invoice and get paid the way you already do. Motiv holds the quote, the approval and the evidence — not the payment.
- How quickly will I get work?
- We will not promise you volume. Invitations depend on clients in your area needing your trades, and on your rating once you have a few jobs behind you.
- What if a client is unreasonable?
- You can raise a dispute on the job, which pauses it until it is resolved rather than leaving you to argue by phone.
